THE PROLOGUE

I’m excited to be sharing my first devotion series on my blog. The series titles “In His Pocket”. This devotion is a collection of my personal testimony of how I first found Jesus and how I now need Him every day. The experience is very much like that of the little joeys, the baby marsupials born defenseless and need to make their way into their mother’s pouch. The pouch is a pocket attached to the mother. A place where the little joey claws in to be saved, nourished, protected, and grow.

HOW IT WORKS

This is a four-week devotional series. Each week starts on a Sunday with an introduction to set the stage for the week. Schedule your own time to study the passage from Monday – Thursday. Friday will be the day of reflection which can be in any form of journaling (write, draw, paint — anything that you are comfortable with). Saturday is the day of rest so take this opportunity to commune with God and rest in Him.

THE PASSAGES

In this series, we are going to pick a few chapters from the book of John and end with some from Psalms. John is the first book in the bible that I’ve ever read. This is also the book that converted me into a Christian. John is my Genesis to Christianity. It is still the book that I turn to when I need a safe space to crawl in, it is to me, His pocket…a place to be reminded of His everlasting love.

Prepare for this devotion series by reading John 1:1-18
