Jeremiah is the longest book in the bible and perhaps the most passionate book. I started reading Jeremiah since the start of social isolation and I was captivated by his passion. A teen, perhaps, when Jeremiah was called, he did not believe in himself but the Lord believed in him.

I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.

Jeremiah 1:5

God knows us before we were formed. He knows our weakness, strength and our potential.
He is also near us and ready to equip us with what we need to serve Him.
He will equip those He calls.

Then the Lord reached out his hand, touched my mouth, and told me: I have now filled your mouth with my words. See, I have appointed you today over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and demolish, to build and plant.

Jeremiah 1:9-10

Jeremiah was raised to deliver a final call, a warning message to the Israelite and also to encourage them, to tell them of hope. As the day of Christ’s second coming is approaching, God will also raise up a prophet to deliver us a final call.

But just as the Israelite in Jeremiah’s day did not listen to their prophets because they were blinded by their own wicked ways, we are also at risk of following their path. We must open our eyes and most importantly our hearts to be ready for the final call.

I’m sitting at my home still in social isolation. I cannot help but think, am I living in the last days? I’m keeping my ears out, my eyes open and my heart ready for His final call. Are you?

Hymn The Saviour is Waiting

The Saviour is waiting to enter your heart,
Why don’t you let Him come in?
There’s nothing in this world to keep you apart,
What is your answer to Him?

Time after time He has waited before,
And now He is waiting again,
To see if you’re willing to open the door,
Oh, how he wants to come in.
